This week, the hand and plastic surgery team led by Dr. Khalique Zahir from the U.S. arrived at Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip to start the week-long surgery mission. So far, the medical team has screened sixty cases, and surgeries have started for thirty-three patients. Dr. Zahir is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at INOVA Plastic Surgery, Fairfax, Virginia, and is an active member of IMANA. Dr. Zahir is part of the plastic and reconstructive surgery committee on our medical advisory board and gives of his time volunteering on medical missions to Palestine with PCRF.
