The “Zeit Wa Zaatar and More” campaign is a heartfelt initiative that began by simply asking children in Gaza a question: “What do you wish to eat?” Their answer was both humble and poignant—zeit wa zaatar (olive oil and thyme)—a simple Palestinian staple that symbolizes home, warmth, and comfort.
In response, this campaign was launched to fulfill their wishes and provide more than just a meal. Each food parcel is thoughtfully prepared, containing zeit wa zaatar alongside other essential food items, such as milk, rice, and canned goods, as well as relief supplies like diapers and blankets.
In its latest phase, the campaign delivered three truckloads of these food baskets from Ramallah, West Bank, to families and orphaned children in Gaza’s shelters. Despite the immense challenges of war, food scarcity, and the biting winter cold, this initiative has brought moments of comfort and hope to those who need it most.
This campaign is part of PCRF’s broader mission, which includes dozens of humanitarian projects, to support vulnerable communities in Gaza, ensuring that even in their darkest times, they feel seen, supported, and cared for.
