This week, the first surgery was successfully performed in the newly built fourth operating room at Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza, created by the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF). This milestone marks a major step forward in expanding surgical capacity during the ongoing war, reducing waiting times and improving emergency response.
Al-Aqsa Hospital, Gaza’s main public hospital in the central region, treats hundreds of patients daily. Amid shortages and destruction, PCRF fully renovated three operating rooms and constructed a fourth, reinforcing Gaza’s collapsing medical system with urgent infrastructure support.
