This week, a nine member team of surgeons and doctors returned to Rafidiah Hospital in the West Bank to provide maxillofacial surgery for patients with facial deformities. Led by PCRF chairman of the board Dr. Khaled Abughazaleh from Chicago, the team included doctors from Mexico, Chile, Ecuador and the USA, including maxillofacial surgeons Prof. Rafael Ruiz, Dr. Raul Fernando Sandoval, Prof. Fernando Jose Sandoval, Dr. Juan Carlos Lopez, oral surgeon Dr. Juan Carlos Lopez Lastra, anesthesiologist Dr. Yaser Wafai, Nablus-based orthodontist, Dr. Aziza Nasser, and American speech-therapist Amy Alpert. The team have been on dozens of volunteer missions in the past and provided hundreds of patients free surgery within local hospitals.
