Italian Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon Returns to Palestine

For the next two weeks, Dr. Giancarlo Crupi, from Bergamo, Italy, will be in the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah supporting the training of local surgeons in pediatric cardiac surgery.

Dr. Crupi first came to Palestine to operate in 1999 with the PCRF, and has since been on dozens of volunteer missions and saved the lives of hundreds of Palestinian children with congenital heart disease.

PCRF is the main nonprofit in the Middle East sponsoring volunteer surgeons to treat this disease in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and has provided over 2,000 children life-saving open-heart surgery since 1998.
