After last being held in summer 2023, PCRF’s Summer Camp has returned to Gaza for the first time since the war began, creating a safe space where children can play, connect, and simply be children again. Under the theme “We Are Here,” the camp provides mental health and psychosocial support for orphaned children, child amputees, and children with disabilities — offering opportunities to build friendships, regain confidence, and create joyful memories. The first two weeks welcomed 97 orphaned children and 71 children who have lost their limbs for days filled with play, creativity, learning, and connection. Through activities such as water play, hygiene awareness, first aid education, and group celebrations, the camp supports children’s healing, resilience, and sense of belonging. The camp will continue reaching more of Gaza’s most vulnerable children, providing the care and support they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
