Strengthening Newborn Care in Gaza with the Largest Neonatal unit
Strengthening Newborn Care in Gaza with the Largest Neonatal unit

PCRF has proudly completed the rehabilitation of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Specialized Pediatric Hospital in Gaza City, strengthening access to critical care for premature and newborn babies. With a capacity of 17 incubators, the renovated NICU will become the largest neonatal unit serving Gaza City and North Gaza, helping provide life-saving specialised care to some of the most vulnerable patients. The rehabilitation comes at a time when neonatal care services in Gaza have faced severe disruptions, with critical healthcare infrastructure repeatedly damaged and access to specialised care significantly challenged. Restoring this unit helps ensure that more newborns have access to safe, quality, life-saving medical care from the very beginning of life. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this success possible, from the PCRF Chicago and Cleveland Chapters for their huge support, to the employees on the ground for their relentless dedication.
