Last February, PCRF carried out a new specialized medical mission led by a UK based pediatric orthopedic, hand, and plastic surgery team at Safad Hospital in Tripoli, Lebanon. Led by long term volunteer Dr. Asan Rafee, Consultant Surgeon in Trauma, Orthopedics, and Reconstruction, and joined by Dr. Yasser Hijazi, Dr. Yazan Shalan, and Dr. Lina Fazlanie, the team screened 40 cases and performed 14 surgeries, delivering critical interventions that will significantly improve children’s well being and quality of life. The team then traveled to Al Hanan Hospital in Amman, Jordan, to continue their mission and expand access to specialized pediatric surgical care in the region, performing surgeries to 10 children. We sincerely thank them for their dedication, expertise, and generous service to children and families who have nowhere else to turn.
