PCRF Mental Health Team Assesses Children Affected By War

Psychological trauma, when unaddressed, can have detrimental impacts on the ongoing mental health and well-being of children affected by war. Treatment for psychological trauma and mental health support are vital aspects of PCRF's ongoing humanitarian outreach to best support these children in Gaza and throughout the region. PCRF's social workers have seen  first-hand the impact that the recent war in Gaza has had on local children and the traumatic events which many of these children actively relive. Our mental health teams provide evaluations for children who experienced such events as the massacres at Al-Fallujah cemetery, Bedouin village, Beit Hanoun, Jabalia camp (Imad Aqel), Al-Shaout area in Rafah, and others, in addition to the strike on the Palestine Tower in Gaza. The mental health team is also creating treatment plans that will help address these traumas and improve the psychological well-being of these brave children.
