On June 2, PCRF opened a new extension to our Huda Al Masri Pediatric Cancer Department. This new section will enable the department staff to better care for the many children being treated there for cancer and other blood diseases. In April 2013, PCRF opened the first and only pediatric cancer department for sick children in Palestine, named after Huda Al Masri, our head social worker for 17 years, who helped build PCRF and who passed from leukemia in July, 2009. Each year our department provides hundreds of children as in and out patients free cancer care that they otherwise would not get locally.
