This week, 4-year-old Lara from Baghdad had complex open-heart surgery by Dr. Victor Hernandez at Complejo Hospitalario Universitario Coruna in Spain. PCRF sent her there in cooperation with the Spanish NGO Fundacion Infancia Solidaria.  Dr. Hernandez has been on several volunteer surgery missions to Palestine with PCRF and provided dozens of children free life-saving surgery there.  He is also a member of the International Palestinian Cardiac Relief Organization (IPCRO) of PCRF, which is helping to build a pediatric cardiac surgery program in Palestine.  Later in October he will be leading a team to Gaza to operate on children with heart disease.
