Swiss Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Team Returns to Palestine

This week, a 9-member team of doctors and nurses from Switzerland returned to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah to provide pediatric cardiac surgery for children born with congenital heart disease. Led by Spain-based pediatric cardiac surgeon Dr. Amir-Reza Hosseinpour, the team includes cardiologist Dr. Stefano Di Bernardo, intensivist Dr. Marie-Hélène Perez, anesthesiologists Dr. Sylvain Mauron and Dr. Caroline Mury, perfusionist Manuel Iafrate, ICU nurses Olivier Mantion and Valerie Moity, and respiratory physiotherapistAudrey Hertig. The team have provided life-saving surgery for children at PMC twice in the past and are helping also with training and supporting the building of a pediatric cardiac surgery program for Palestine.
