Gaza Mental Health Team: Overcoming Trauma and Depression with KIDNET Therapy
Gaza Mental Health Team: Overcoming Trauma and Depression with KIDNET Therapy

Rahaf is a brave five-year-old girl from the South Gaza area who experienced a traumatic traffic accident resulting in the loss of her leg, among other injuries, about a year and a half ago. The incident left her struggling with depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Rahaf's mental health deteriorated to the point where she refused to leave the house, play with other children, or even look out the window. She also experienced loss of appetite and refused to eat, often waking up crying. To help Rahaf, KIDNET therapy was implemented as one of the most effective trauma therapy techniques. The impact was significant, with a noticeable reduction in the severity and recurrence of Rahaf's trauma symptoms. As she received her prosthesis, Rahaf became more responsive and happy, showing progress in overcoming her trauma. Currently, efforts are being made to address Rahaf's symptoms of depression. Her journey towards healing and recovery continues, and the support provided has been instrumental in improving her mental health and overall well-being. Rahaf's resilience and progress are a testament to her strength and determination, and we are committed to supporting her on her path to a brighter future.
